Enhancing women's lives through sport

NIKE: Play

The ad moves from one girl to another as each gives a reason why young girls should play sports. The girls say:

"I will like myself more, I will have more self confidence, if you let me play sports.
If you let me play, I will be 60% less likely to get breast cancer.
I will suffer less depression, if you let me play sports.
I will be more likely to leave a man who beats me.
If you let me play, I will be less likely to get pregnant before I want to.
I will learn what it means to be strong. If you let me play sports."

The girls in this commercial ask to be given the opportunity to play sports so they will be less likely to suffer many of the problems young women encounter today.

NIKE: Chance

This Nike ad has girls from infants to teenagers in various settings reflecting on normal events in life. Within these everyday situations girls are given (or not given) the chance to realize their full potential. The copy reads:

"There is a girl being born in America. And somebody will tell her she is beautiful. And somebody will tell her she is strong. Somebody will tell her she is precious. Somebody will say she is tough. There is a girl being born in America. And somebody will give her a doll. And somebody will give her a ball. And then somebody will give her a chance."

"The benefits of sport do not diminsh with age, the opportunities shouldn't either."
